What Was Dinner 06/03/2012

I have said it before and I will say it again. I love Summer for so many reasons, the heat, the sunshine, the beaches and most importantly the food.
 All winter long you spend hours in the kitchen planing and following each step of recipes to make meals that comfort and warm the body and soul through the long cold nights. In the Summer you get to break free of the kitchen and go out doors.There is very little planning needed and everything taste so fresh.Fruits and vegetables seem so much crisper,cleaner and more colorful,even the meat some how seems leaner, lighter and brighter in the summertime.
 Last night in the heavy winds and threatening rain Bill was out side manning the grill. I tried to get pictures of him standing at the grill flipping the steak as the trees were bending to the ground around him, but they all came out to blurry to use. Any way Bill used the grill for every thing but the corn and salad.He produced a dinner that absolutely screamed summer,and there wasn't a burger or rib around for miles.(hehehe)
  The menu was fresh sweet corn on the cob, zucchini sliced and cooked on the grill,lettuce and jersey tomato salad and a nicely seasoned med rare NY strip steak.
See what I mean simple, easy and spectacular. Whats not to love about summer!

       It is Thursday already! where did the Week go? I can't believe how fast time flies some times.        I spent time in the sewing...
