It is Wednesday and as always I still have so much to do this week. I have achieved a good deal of what I planned for this week, but like the week I am not done yet.
I finished and delivered the tea towel, well she picked it up, but it is done.
The 2 pillows are cut out and I have started sewing them.
The dentist was a smashing success, within a month I will have teeth and my smile back, and from todays fitting it would appear I will adjust just fine to the plate in my mouth. I also got the dreaded final to social security done. I have to admit as scary as the thought of getting social security started it was pretty painless and everyone I spoke with was friendly and very helpful.
I went to Russo's today and walked around to see how my creations looked tucked in with all the other wonderful things you can find at this market. What I saw made me so happy.
When I realized that a few of the pot holders had indeed sold, that happy feeling got even happier. Since Russo's bought the pieces from me out right, it may seem as if it wouldn't matter to me if they sold or not. It does matter, and gives me a sense of pride knowing they are a good enough quality to actually sell. It is kind of like a proud Mamma on the first day of school.
In listing all the things I wanted to accomplish this week, or that needed my attention, I forgot a real big event. Until I saw the sign as I drove back into my community today I had completely blanked on the fact that this was the first weekend in May and it is the community yard sale. This is a big event and brings loads of people into the community. It has gotten smaller in the last few years, but it is still a good deal of fun. I just need to get some stuff out and ready that I have been saving for this sale. Not a whole lot of stuff, but I would have been disappointed if I wasn't ready.
Whats For Dinner:
Leftovers !
I tried a new recipe for a vegetable bake that I am not sure how I feel about. Veggie bake
It made a huge amount of leftovers that I am not sure about, but I won't be letting to go to waste.
I still had sauce left from making the blush sauce and I had a spaghetti squash that was in bad need of being used. Bill figured out that slicing the squash into rings allowed the squash to cook a little quicker, caramelize a lot better and made incredibly pretty individual servings for each person. I missed my best photo op when Bill made his plate look like nests of saucy goodness, but you know you never get between a hungry man and his plate not even for a photo. After baking the rings on one side until they were a caramelized to perfection I flipped the rings and filled the centers with healthy scoops of the leftover vegetable bake and topped it with Mozzarella cheese and put them back in the oven until the cheese was bubbling.
I want to thank those of you that read my blogs, and come back to read more. I really do appreciate it and you. This site counts the visits to each blog so I can see that what I write gets read. I am not trying to build anything or sell anything with this blog. I just happen to really enjoy writing and strangely enough the clacking of the keys as I type, the fact that I write something people enjoy reading is a big happy extra bonus for me, so I thank you very much.
I hope to see you next time!
