A Madeline Weekend & Dinner

I love weekends with Madeline. We are always so busy having fun doing new and different things. My house is a disaster area and will take me 3 days at least to get it back together but I don't mind a little bit. When I look around at the mess every where all I see is the fun we had, painting rocks, putting puzzles together and playing pretend everything.

We don't spend all our time in the house messing it up, we go outside too. I should have been out in the garden getting the rest of my plants planted and feeding everything, but well that didn't happen. Madeline and I enjoyed a day at the funplex and water park instead. We were going to just play a game of putt putt golf but when we got to the park I saw the excitement in Madeline's  eyes and I just had to give her the whole park. Thanks to a stranger leaving the funplex handing me a coupon it was totally affordable.

We enjoyed 36 holes of golf and rode the tilt a twirl 4 times, the bumper boats once and spent the rest of the day in the water park having fun splashing and sliding down the many different slides.

Once we came back home and settled down Madeline climbed up in Great Grandma's lap for a little story time before bed.

Little miss Madeline was a sleep before she could even say " I'm not tired" her usual response to bed time. We played hard and she was beat. Makes me smile just thinking about all the fun we had.
" What Was Dinner" I still have dishes from my lost week to share but last night I tried a recipe and I can't wait to share it.

This recipe has been going around face book for while. I decided to share it the other day with Dziadzi and this weekend all the ingredients were in my kitchen waiting for me to put them together. I have to say this recipe is messy to put together and a little time consuming, but entirely worth it. We were eating onion, bacon,& Sriracha and it was like we were eating  candy.

You will need sweet Vidalia onions about 2 large ones sliced into thick rings
   1/4 cup of Sriracha
1 lb bacon
 1 cup of brown sugar
Brush the onion slices with the Sriracha lightly on the inside. Dip each slice of bacon in the brown sugar coating the bacon front and back.
Wrap each slice with a piece of bacon and secure with tooth picks. I found that wrapping the bacon over the starting end of the bacon and ending wrapping where you began helps with securing it.
The original recipe called for the oven and suggested it would also work on the grill. I did my rings on the grill. Perfection all the way around.

25 to 30 minutes per side and before you know it you will be eating what can only be described as candid meat or meat candy. Who ever it was that said " Bacon was meats answer to candy " must have been eating one of these.

Well it is time to get the house back in order and the garden fed. Have a cheery Monday! Thank you for stopping by.
